  • Description: At the beginning of the 20th century, farmers suffered under the yoke of rich landowners. They work all day for a pittance, deprived of their right to life and dignity. When one of them, Tasos Karydis, resolves to help the landless farmers stand up for their rights and fight the inhuman conditions imposed upon them, he is confronted with the tough response of their boss, Anestis Lepouras. At the same time, his sister Anna, who had been away in Athens for many years studying law, unexpectedly sides with Tasos. Lepouras, however, won't mend his ways; instead he rules with an iron fist and wants for himself Tasos' sister, Charavgi, who is in love with another poor man, Vangos. The fight is on, but it will take time for their worthy cause to come to fruition.
